The cooking of the restaurant emphasizes the importance of the Italian and Lombard tradition, with no renounces to different interpretations of the recipies. Considered one of the prides of the traditional cooking in Milan, "Al Mercante" gives you the chance to taste the best versions of the well known risotto "Milanese" with saffron, polentas, cotolette and braised meat. Besides the cooking of the land, wide is the choice of typical plates of the Italian tradition. A remarkable selection of desserts completes the menu.
The Restaurant "Al Mercante" is particularly careful to the quality of the raw materials. Each product is purchased among the most selected suppliers. Our olive oil comes from a small family estate on the hills in Umbria, in the Perugian inland. Fresh pasta, bread and cakes are prepared daily in our kitchen and complete our offer. Our cooks, Giuseppe Puccia, Gianni Saidi and theirs assistants, have been leading the kitchen for several years bringing their attention to materials, their experience on the preparation of the recipes, learned at the Hotel school of Milan and their care handling food. Corrado Romanini, the wine steward of restaurant, with Simona and Claudio proposes a wide selection of wines.
At the custom’s disposal the restaurant offers a a daily updated menu on request, with at least 15 dishes per heading. Is also possible to create dedicated menu for special occasions and requirements of the customers, like business lunches or celebrations, and to develop dietary menu for vegetarians, allergic or on-diet people.
